Velo means “bicycle” in French, but at Velo Bed and Breakfast it also means: veggie. eco. local. organic. It reflects our desire to do business with a light footprint, while offering truly comfortable accommodations and delicious, gourmet fare.
Velo features two beautiful en suite rooms. Guests enjoy a separate guest entrance and spacious separate living/dining and patio areas. Friends or family renting both rooms enjoy the luxury of having the whole bed and breakfast to themselves! Velo offers a 10% discount for those arriving by bicycle and is an LGBTQ-friendly business.
The West Room
The West Room features a top-of-the-line queen Englander mattress. Manufactured in Oregon, this mattress is made from natural latex and has an organic soy-based pillowtop. All bedding is organic and/or made in the USA.
This room has its own private bath, with a shower/tub combo featuring a unique partial-length swinging glass door for a spacious bathing experience. Bath amenities include locally-made and cruelty-free/vegan bath products such as Sappo Hill and Sacred Earth Botanicals. The West room also has heated tile and cork floors in the cooler months—wonderful!
As an open-plan suite, it is able to accommodate up to 4 guests. The adjoining sitting room features a new high-end, modern, full-size sleeper sofa. Each guest beyond 2 is an additional $50 charge per night. Two guests requesting separate beds are charged an additional one-time $35 fee.
The Tandem Room
The Tandem Room features a top-of-the-line natural latex queen Englander mattress and all bedding and bath towels are organic and/or made in the USA. The private bathroom has a fabulously spacious tiled two-person shower with a large frameless glass door. Bath amenities include locally-made and cruelty-free/vegan bath products such as Sappo Hill and Sacred Earth Botanicals.
Guests staying in the Tandem Room can step through their own backdoor onto a private patio that looks out into the organic vegetable garden and is framed by cherry, plum and apple trees. Hardwood chaise lounges and a cafe table on the patio invite relaxation. Guests preferring more privacy are welcome to request that their breakfast be served on their private patio during the warmer months.
The Tandem Room features naturally-hypoallergenic cork flooring that is heated in the cooler months—delightful!
$175 plus 9.5% state and local lodging tax.
Guest living and dining areas
Velo guests enjoy their own living/dining area with many amenities including a massage chair, a small guest refrigerator, DVDs, books, games and free, limited wifi.
Filtered cool and hot water, as well as over 40 types of organic tea, are available at all times for guests. We offer most types of alternative milks.
Guests can request breakfast be served in the dining area or outside on the guest patio in the warmer months. We feature gourmet and organic vegan breakfasts, and we offer gluten-free items upon request.
We are happy to cater to dietary needs or preferences; just let us know in advance of your stay.
Throughout the B&B
Throughout Velo B and B guests will find primarily USA-made products, including furniture locally made from sustainable and repurposed wood. An environmentally-friendly passive cooling system means it is always comfortable inside Velo in the warmer months. In the cooler seasons, the heated cork floors are wonderfully warm.
Velo sits on over 7 acres of sloped forestland and pasture.
Rescued chickens, dog and kitties reside on the premises. However, B and B indoor guest areas are 100% pet-free.
